Saviour-Dog Story Scam
Maybe you remember the story of a dog who kept a New Brunswick man who didn't go on a shooting spree because of his encounter with a dog? Turns out it was a scam:
Winnipeg Sun: NEWS - Saviour-dog story all a scam: "A New Brunswick man who told police a friendly dog scuttled his plan for a bloody shooting rampage was sentenced yesterday to a three-year prison term after admitting it was all a ploy to get life-saving surgery while in jail."I suppose it need not be pointed out that by perpetrating the scam, he belongs in jail, and that if he's willing to go to jail to save his own life, well, I guess that's his prerogative.
