You are not sure what it means, but you've heard that some dogs keep kosher:

Keeping kosher: Even pets can follow Jewish dietary laws | Asbury Park Press Online: Kosher Pets, which has been selling kosher pet food for the last five years. “Our Dalmatian suffered from bad rashes, so we started cooking for her what we were eating,” which was a strictly kosher diet, she says. Shortly afterward, her dog's skin started changing for the better, and “people kept asking us, ”What are you doing?' and we just said, “We're feeding her kosher like we eat.'”

So long as you are fed, and fed frequently, you are not choosy about what, exactly, you are fed (so long as there are no olives or kidney beans in what you have been fed. Both are vile and likely not kosher at all. How could they be?).
