Warning: Dogs Consuming Enough Cocoa Bean Shell (Hull?) Mulch Could Be Poisoned

Once upon a time, when I was considering what to mulch my garden with, I did a lot of research, and had nearly come to the conclusion that I wanted to mulch with cocoa bean hulls (aren't they called hulls? I don't remember that part of my research. This is why I have to write everything down). Okay. Just call them “shells” then why don't you. But then I didn't do it, and I couldn't tell you why that was until just a few minutes ago when the Bark blog reminded me:

Bark Blog: Beware of Mulch: Dogs consuming enough cocoa bean shell mulch could potentially develop signs similar to that of chocolate poisoning, including vomiting and diarrhea—and in cases where very large amounts of mulch have been consumed, muscle tremors or other more serious neurological signs could occur.
